- Base notes: green leaves, civet, tobacco, vanilla, leather, patchouli, sandalwood, oakmoss, vetiver
Stage, 1935:
"There are certain perfumes especially made for furs. (Most perfume, you know, is supposed to leave a sour odor on fur after the first fragrance is gone.) Look at — and smell ! — Lanvin's Rumeur, intended primarily for furs; it is a vivacious kind."

Fate of the Fragrance:
Discontinued around 1971.
Rumeur was reformulated by Francis Kurkdjian and relaunched in 2006. It is quite different from the original.
