So what does it smell like? I suppose it would be classified as a floral woody fragrance for women.
First sniff is very woody, with lots of cedar, sandalwood and patchouli. Reminds me of vintage Magie by Lancome. A haunting floral bouquet of honeyed rose, jasmine, iris and ylang ylang wraps its arms around the wood notes. A wisp of hyacinth and lily of the valley slip in and out, playing hide and seek amongst the other floral notes. Spices pepper their way throughout the composition revealing nutmeg, mace and cloves. Slight animalic notes of musk and amber on oakmoss and vetiver give the perfume a furry, fuzzy note. There is only a trace of sweetness to be found in the drydown from some vanilla or benzoin, but this fragrance is mostly dry, spicy and very woodsy.
Discontinued, probably sometime in the 1960s. Today you may only come across this perfume in a set of miniatures along with Fragonard and Mercoeur like I did.
